Nairobi: Monday May 31, 2021…It is 10 months since we unveiled the strategic focus areas that would lay the groundwork towards our long-term goal to become our customers’ technology partner of choice.

One of these focus areas is to better position our infrastructure asset base and services to drive digital transformation within the Consumer, SME, Corporate and Public Sectors. Mobile Data consumption continues to grow, with the customer demanding for more competitive and comprehensive offerings that address their dynamic needs: browsing, downloading, streaming, digital transactions, news consumption, and updating their apps; actions that are now integral to everyday life. The development of new products and solutions to serve our customers, therefore, will ensure that they benefit from an innovative proposition that broadens and simplifies their digital lifestyles.

Tomorrow, Kenyans mark Madaraka Day, 58 years since the country got to exercise self-governance; a key step towards gaining its independence. As Kenyans, we value our freedom – it has given us the opportunity to pursue our goals and live our dreams thereby becoming truly independent. The increasing demand for more diverse technology solutions that will drive a digital lifestyle, also casts the spot light on accessibility. Mobile data enables such access, thereby giving our consumers digital independence.

Telkom, in the same spirit of further entrenching this digital independence, will be offering our customers an important access key to their own digital independence, for the Madaraka season, and beyond. All this will be unveiled in the coming days.

Happy Madaraka Day!
