A QR (Quick Response) is a two-dimensional (2D) bar code that is used to provide easy access to online information and contactless payment options through scanning from the digital camera on a smartphone or tablet.
The Quick Response (QR) Code will provide a secondary channel via the T-kash APP that will be a valuable additional user experience for initiating and accepting payments between our customers and merchants.

The T-kash QR Code Product Features
Merchant QR Code. (Paybill and Till)
- A physically displayed QR Code that represents a till or pay bill at points of sale.
- Static Code
- Linked to a T-kash Paybill or T-kash Till number
- The merchant will display the QR code alongside the Till or Paybill number.
- The subscriber will scan the code, input the amount, and enter a PIN to complete the payment
- The transaction will be complete and the customer will be debited to make payment, and the merchant collection account will be credited to receive payment.
Subscriber QR Code. (Send Money)
- Subscribers can scan a T-kash QR Code to make payment.
- A T-kash consumer will have a QR Code linked to their MSISDN
- The T-kash consumer will be able to share the QR code
- All participating subscribers should be able to scan/receive the QR code to complete the payment required. Payment types include P2P.
- To complete the transaction, the subscriber will input an amount and enter a PIN.
- The transaction will be complete and the recipient will receive money in their T-kash Wallet.

This will allow T-kash customers through the APP seamlessly scan to pay at various points of sale.
With the T-kash QR Code Scan-To-Pay will allow payments in two to three steps; scan a Merchant QR code, Enter the amount to pay, and then Enter a PIN to complete.
A T-kash Merchant will display the code somewhere easily accessible to our customers printed out and displayed at their tills. The customer then just needs to scan the QR code to initiate the payment.
A customer will open the T-kash APP, Select to Pay via pay bill or buy goods, and Select pay via QR Code, their camera will open allowing the customer to scan a displayed code. They will be presented with the merchant details. To complete the customer will input the amount, confirm the transaction, and enter their PIN for payment.
A customer only needs a smartphone, data connection, and the T-kash APP to support the QR Payment
All Customers need to have registered to T-kash and activated their account by changing the PIN. To access the QR code scanner, a customer needs to download the T-kash App from their applications store and log on to the application following the provided prompts.

QR code payments are one of the safest payment methods to use due to these key factors:
Credit and debit card checks: Card payments go through their network such as Visa or MasterCard, ensuring a stable and secure transaction takes place.
Local payment methods: Customers can choose their preferred local payment method. Promoting a safe and familiar service helps customers feel confident about trusting your business as they pay via QR code.
Tokenization QR codes are tokenized and encrypted. That means no customer data needs to be stored to take payments. With no personal information to steal, QR code payments are at a very low risk of fraud
No, All transaction charges remain the same regardless of the channel a customer may choose to pay through.

The QR Code assures customers that merchant details have been captured correctly minimizing mistakes, however, should the customer need to recall/ reverse a transaction, reach out to Telkom Customer care by calling 100/160 or the other social media platforms.
