SkyNet is a satellite broadband service on Ka–Band with high data transfer rates by using small receiving antennas.

Ka-band uses frequencies in the 26.5 to 40 GHz range while Ku-Band and C Band are at a lower frequency at 12 to 18 GHz range and 4 to 8GHz respectively. With a higher frequency, as is with Ka-Band, you can extract more bandwidth therefore a higher data transfer rate and, therefore, higher performance.
